2021 Registration Open

Welcome to 2021! While the league has been relatively quiet over the past few months, we have been working to return to the field in spring 2021 for a full schedule of games.

We have opened registration for the 2021 season, and it will run online through February 28th. We have made some changes this year for registration – most importantly, we have lowered the registration fee to $65/player ($50/player for Tee-Ball). We will be setting up a raffle this year as the fundraiser, with more details to come shortly, the fundraising buy-out will continue to be $30/player and the family volunteer deposit is $10/family.

T-Mobile and Little League have brought the Call-Up Grant program back for 2021 for families in need. Families looking for scholarship assistance can use the Call-Up Grant program ( For the purposes of the Call-Up Grant the league registration fee is $115 for players needing a helmet, and $95 for players that already have a helmet; these include registration and the fundraising buy-out. Once we receive notice from T-Mobile, a coupon code for online registration will be generated for families to complete the registration process.

STSLL scholarships are available for anyone in need that doesn’t qualify or is unable to access the T-Mobile Call-Up Grant. Please contact the Player Agent, Greg Krawczak ([email protected]) or President, Tom Connolly ([email protected]) for more information and assistance. These requests will be kept confidential for everyone’s privacy.

In-person registration is scheduled for February 21st and 28th at the Saginaw Athletic Club, from 2pm to 5pm. For safety we will be enforcing masks and social distancing, and ask that no more than 1 person per household come for registration. We ask that registration forms are completed at home and brought into registration if possible. We recognize everyone is excited and looking forward to seeing their baseball friends again, but need to continue to take precautions.

We are encouraging everyone that is able to register online to please use online registration.

Skill Drills will be different this year – we don’t yet have a complete plan, but the goal is to reduce the number of players at Skill Drills for safety. Skill Drills will be held at the Saginaw Athletic Club on March 6th with more information provided in the next few weeks.

We have some initial COVID plans below, this will likely change as we get closer to the different milestones (Skill Drills, draft, park clean up, and opening day).

  • All players will be required to wear a face covering when a distance of more than 6 feet between individuals is not possible.
    • A gaiter will be provided to each player as part of their uniform. This is being made possible via a donation from Sandlot Sports.
    • This includes in the dugouts, stands, and other congregate areas throughout the park.
    • Players will not be required to wear masks while in playing positions on the field, including fielding, batting and running.
    • Adults participating as managers/coaches will be required to wear a face covering at all times.
  • All players will be required to have their own helmet.
    • Helmets will be made available through registration for purchase for $20 per helmet per player.
    • Families needing assistance with the helmets, please contact Greg Krawczak ([email protected]) or Tom Connolly ([email protected]) for information.
  • All shared equipment will be sanitized appropriately between uses.
    • Bat handles will be wiped between players.
    • Balls will be wiped between half-innings or prior to being re-introduced into play.
  • Inter-league play for Minor, Major and Senior divisions is still being reviewed. While we would like to have inter-league games scheduled, we need to ensure the safety of everyone involved prior to scheduling inter-league games.
    •  Junior division is tentatively inter-league, with STSLL teams using the STSLL COVID guidelines as the minimum, while also complying with the local league rules when visiting other facilities.
    • Visiting teams will be required to adhere to STSLL COVID guidelines as a minimum.
  • As is the case with COVID, as situations change and develop, the safety practices will be modified accordingly. We do expect more information and requirements to be provided closer to the start of the season.

The 2021 season will have opening ceremonies tentatively scheduled on Friday, April 23rd, 2021 opening the season with 2 games on opening night.

The regular season will run through June 18th and the division championships tentatively being held on June 26th.

Please note: Tee-Ball will have their first games on Saturday, May 1st.

We look forward to seeing all of the returning and new families to South this year!

Thank you,
Tom Connolly
